Benefits of Circuit Training

What are the benefits of circuit training?

I'm sure many of you have heard of circuit training and maybe some of you have incorporated it into your training regiment, but why is it so popular and so beneficial to your physical fitness and well being?

Here are some reasons why I use it to increase not only my clients fitness, but mine as well.

people circuit training

Total Body Workout- My clients love this kind of training because they’re working their entire body. I love it as a trainer because my client doesn’t get bored-there’s no time.

You move from one exercise to the next, one section of the body to another and by the time you know it you’ve worked you entire body and the session is over. I love it when a client says “That’s it? The time went by so fast!"

Cardiovascular Fitness- Moving from one exercise to the next without rest helps to build a strong heart by keeping your heart rate elevated, and if you constantly move from upper body to lower body you force your body to transport blood and nutrients from one section of your body to next, helping to improve circulation.

Time- Another one of the benefits of circuit training is that a high intensity circuit can be performed in 10 minutes, so you get maximum results in the minimum amount of time. So if you don’t have a lot of time you can blast out one of these high intensity home fitness routines and be on your way.

Hell, if all you do are these 10 minute routines 4 or 5 times a week, and you eat sensibly, you’ll look pretty damn good.

No Equipment Needed- Of course you can use equipment, but if you’re in your hotel room all you need are a few fat- roasting exercises, then crank up the intensity meter and away you go.

The Gains Don't End There

These kinds of routines can work both endurance and strength, and they address the 5 Components of Physical Fitness as well.

This kind of training can be added to whatever kind of physical fitness you're already involved in, whether it be weight lifting, running, mixed martial arts or whatever it is you do.

You can always profit from this range of different exercises, and the intensity that they're performed at can be adjusted to your level of fitness.

So you can see that the benefits of circuit training are many, and if you're serious about your fitness you should definitely add it to your training arsenal.
