Nutrition and Physical Fitness. How Do They Work Together?

Nutrition and physical fitness: do you know why they have to work together in order for you to lose weight?

Did you know that exercising can actually make you gain weight? How?

Physical fitness has a lot of great benefits but one of the effects is that it can stimulate hunger and cause you to eat more, which can, of course, cause you to gain weight.

Think about it: if you increase your level of physical activity then your body is going to need more fuel. A common mistake to make is that after a great workout session we sometimes feel entitled to eat the burger and fries, almost like a reward for working so hard. When you decide, or if you're already leading an active lifestyle, eating right becomes even more important.

Also, after training we crave sugar. Gatorade anyone? Did you know that a 20oz bottle of Gatorade contains 130 calories?! Now I'm not telling you not to drink Gatorade, I just want to point out that exercise can be a double-edged sword.

I know what you're thinking: damned if I do, damned if I don't. But now for the good news.

This is where you have to start to understand that exercise alone is not the key to weight loss. The key to losing weight, and keeping the weight off, is how dedicated you are to adopting a healthy lifestyle and sticking to it. salmon meal

Nutrition and physical fitness working together is the recipe (no pun intended) for safe and sustained weight loss.

Good habits include eating right for your pre workout meal and eating right for post workout meal as well. Combine that with an effective physical fitness plan, and you shouldn't have to count every calorie you put into your mouth, but you do have to watch what you eat.
