Physical Fitness Trends, Which One is Right for You?
What are the latest physical fitness trends? And more importantly, do they work? From spinning classes to boot camp training, extreme training, and P90x, and don't forget the TRX--the real question is, do any of them work? If any of these programs start you on the path to a healthier lifestyle and becoming a little more health conscious, then the answer is yes. If you've tried any of the latest fads only once or twice and realized that you don't like it, or worse, you injured yourself, well it was pretty much a waste of time and money, and the answer is no. Just because it's trendy and everyone's doing it doesn't always mean it's good for you,(remember that whole smoking thing?), but it also doesn't mean it's all bad for you either. An important concept to understand is the
5 Components of Physical Fitness
and whatever you choose to do should address these elements. Knowing yourself and having clear goals can go a long way as well in helping you choose which direction to take in terms of your
overall health
and well-being. And what I mean by knowing yourself is that I know a hip-hop cardio dance class will help my overall fitness level, but while I don't really see myself liking that I know that many people would, and they would really enjoy it, and maybe you would too. If you've just recently decided to live a healthier lifestyle we welcome you aboard, but the quickest way for you to lose interest in your training is to do something that you really don't like, and for me, that would be a cardio dance class, so I'm going to stick with my kind of training, and I'm going to share it with you too. So the next time you're watching some celebrity gossip show and star x swears by it, remember that some of the latest physical fitness trends really do work and some of them really don't, so keep an open mind, but make sure that it's something that increases your well being, helps you achieve your goals, and that it's something you'll continue to do for a while.
