Stability Ball Exercises, Do They Really Work?

Yes, they really do! Referred to as the stability ball for our purposes, it can also be called the Swiss, physio, or gym ball, as well as other names. This fine piece of equipment first made its appearance in the 60's and is not only used to increase fitness and well being, but also to help recover from injuries.stability ball

The benefit of working with this type of equipment, as opposed to a flat surface, is that it forces your body to balance itself, thereby making your core stronger.

For example, try doing pushups on a flat surface first, then try doing them with your equipment: it changes the exercise completely.

When doing stomach exercises with my clients I like to use it to challenge their core as well. It's important to understand that this is a tool to enhance your training, along with other equipment like the medicine ball.

In my experience, keeping your training routines different and interesting has always been the key maintaining interest in physical fitness This piece of equipment is great, and works, but if your training revolves entirely around it day after day, you will eventually lose focus.

So view these type of exercises as one piece of the puzzle and be sure to always keep adding to it.
